Updated March 15: Holy smokes it's been too long since we've been in touch.
You see the Fitty has been hunkered down for the cold months in our practice
space, working on some new tunes, and some old tunes that are new to us. We've
also been making some connections with some fine musicians of interesting
backgrounds.

On a recent trip into the mountains, our front-man with the golden voice heard a
ruckus coming from deep in the woods. After trekking in he found a group of
country pickers around a campfire. These five young men grew up in the
hill-folk traditions of the Ozarks. I'm talking about pickin', shootin, drinkin and
incest. They call themselves JD and the Teaser Studs, and old Joe convinced them
to come down from the mountains and play with us at Savannah's next Friday.

From time to time, Slick Fitty has been seen in their share of local gin mills. On a
recent trip to one of these fine establishments, the boys got into a heated game of
foosball with some young rockers from Detroit. Come to find out that they are
actually from Detroit Connecticut, which I've never heard of, but after hearing
them play, you would think they came straight out of the motor city. They call
themselves Jerkbag, and there motto is "No regrets, no cassettes", whatever that
means. Anywho, they also agreed to join the big rock show at Savannah's.

    Friday March 20th: Savannah's 1 S Pearl St Albany, NY (518) 426-9647
8:30 JD and the Teaser Studs

Updated March 6: After an extensive search throughout the greater Capital
District, and the African sub-continent, Slick Fitty has found its next great
lead guitar player. We are pleased as punch to welcome Million Dollar Bill into
the band. You may know Bill, aka Billy Sonic, as the axe slinger in such local
notables as the Staynz, the Sidewinders, and Johnny Rabb and the Jailhouse
Rockers. Billy is a welcome addition to the band, and we can't wait to hit the
stage with him. Speaking of hitting the stage, Slick Fitty will unveil our new
talent in a brand new neighborhood for us, Bean-town. We will also be
entertaining the local roller-derby fans for Albany's own All Stars.  We hope

Updated January 29th: Due to reasons that are too involved to go into here,
Scotty Mac is leaving the band.  He was with us for 5 years and five
European tours. During his tenure as lead ax-slinger in the Fitty, Scotty played
over 200 gigs for tens of thousands of fans, touched Buddy Holly's guitar,
became an international recording artist, caught on fire twice, went to a tank
museum, and played some great rock and roll. Thanks for everything Scotty.
We had many great times together. You will be missed.

On a related note, Slick Fitty is looking for a lead guitar player. Interested
rockers should be professional and willing to tour.  Personality is key. Hit the
contact button on the right.

eager, enthusiastic, feverish, fired up*, frantic, high*, hopped up, horny,
hot, hyper, hysterical, inflamed, inspired, juiced up, jumpy, keyed up, moved,
nervous, on edge, on fire, overwrought, passionate, piqued, provoked, roused,
ruffled, steamed up, stimulated, stirred, thrilled, tumultuous, upset, weird,
wild, and worked up about headlining the Roots festival Saturday, October
13th. 2 nights of blues, hillbilly, country, rockabilly and americana. The
official press release and schedule follows:

Roots Music Festival

@ Red Square - Broadway Ave - Albany
Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th
7 Bands, $7, 7 hours of music each night
Doors and Music at 7pm

The crackle of the radio signal as a late night radio show drifts on, years ago,
in the deep south, seamlessly blending bluegrass and country, with string and
jug band music, alongside folk and delta blues; the passion and fire of an old
fashioned tent revival held on a green field against a blue sky; a traveling
show made up of a band of musicians, all with different styles and sounds, yet
all united in purpose, feeling and inspiration; these are some of the influences
and events, which have been drawn upon to create the Roots Music Festival,
which will be held Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th at Red
Square in Albany.

Each night presents an incredibly varied and impressive array of local talent,
which draw upon their shared experiences and love of music, while highlighting
the common roots behind all the sounds they create. Each night will also be
hosted by the Red Haired Strangers and will feature 7 bands for the low price
of $7, by those who are interested in creating an event and a sense of
community, rather than focusing upon making money. These are people who want
to see Red Square packed with those who appreciate all kinds of music and will
listen intently, but not be idle participants.

This event is for music lovers. The people who love the finger picking of a
piedmont-style blues tune, followed by a mandolin cutting through a bluegrass
breakdown and finishing up with a pedal steel guitar adding layers to a country
song already smoldering through a blazing fiddle solo. Feel free to enjoy the
new folk sound of Palatypus, the jug, kazoo and washboard sounds of the Ramblin
Jug Stompers, the bluegrass/jam sound of the Mike McCann Band, the country
blues of the Red Haired Strangers, the hillbilly sounds of Big Frank and the
Bargain Bingers, the mountain-pop sound of Happy Balky and the Good Livin',
the americana of Mark Jones and Friends, the alt-country of the Sidewinders
and the rockabilly of Slick Fitty, but don't feel you need to use the labels,
just enjoy the music.

Fri  - Oct 12th                                                                Sat- Oct 13th

- Courtney Blackwell (Folk/Blues)                          - Dana Monteith (Alt-Country)
- Motherjudge (Blues)                                           - Happy Balky and the Good Livin’ (Mtn.-Pop)
- Ramblin Jug Stompers (Jug)                               - Wiley Dobbs (Bluegrass/Jazz)
- Big Frank and the Bargain Biners (Hillbilly)          - Mark Jones and Friends (Americana)
- Red Haired Strangers (Country Blues)                 - Red Haired Strangers (Country Blues)
- Mike McCann Band (Bluegrass/Jam)                   - Palatypus (New Folk)

upped his meds in preperation for the 50 lap enduro. Be sure
